Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Phill Brooks (ranked 21482 p4p, 671 weight class) and Michael Padrone (ranked 8855 p4p, 688 weight class). Brooks's entrance music is This Fire Burns. A fine choice. Phill Brooks had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Phill Brooks has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Padrone shoots in but no luck this time.
An attempted straight right counter from Brooks misses the target.

Brooks closes the distance and clinches.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Brooks.

Brooks gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Padrone regains full guard. Nicely done.
Brooks working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Padrone is looking for a triangle here but Brooks uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Padrone sneaks back into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Padrone is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Brooks's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Brooks's back!
