Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Caniel Dormier (ranked 3645 p4p, 408 weight class) and Ronald Wagenknecht (ranked 3885 p4p, 431 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronald Wagenknecht!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wagenknecht avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wagenknecht drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Dormier defends it well.
Wagenknecht has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Dormier takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Wagenknecht's corner calls for a 1-2. Wagenknecht obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dormier looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dormier ducks under a wild hook from Wagenknecht.
Dormier tries for a takedown but Wagenknecht sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Wagenknecht throws a nice looking combination but Dormier bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Dormier throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wagenknecht was covering up waiting for the punch and Dormier finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wagenknecht has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wagenknecht wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Wagenknecht lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Wagenknecht paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Dormier - great work!
