Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Preston Mason (ranked 1397 p4p, 70 weight class) and Blaze Blount (ranked 2533 p4p, 120 weight class). Blaze Blount has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Blaze Blount!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blount pushes Mason up against the cage in a clinch.
Mason drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Blount gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Blount lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Blount tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mason wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mason is nestled in close to Blount, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
