Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roe Jogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, James Penn!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jogan throws a leg kick

and Penn counters with a shoot takedown. Jogan fights it but they end up in guard.

Penn stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Jogan looks to throw the jab but Penn is out of range.
Penn feints the counter takedown.
Jogan tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Jogan looks to score with a jab to the body but Penn is just out of range.
Jogan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jogan throws a nice looking combination but Penn bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Penn changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Jogan throws the kick towards the body but Penn avoids it.
Penn feints the counter takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Penn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jogan's guard.
Jogan is looking to stand back up but Penn counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Jogan.


Penn stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

and Penn counters with a nice leg kick.
Jogan throws out a leg kick but Penn moves out of range and Jogan only half commits.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Penn, right into the meat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jogan is looking to get back to his feet here but Penn is keeping cool and he's managed to take Jogan's back.
Penn gets his hands free as Jogan looks to control.
Jogan is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Penn is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

and Penn counters with a nice low kick that buckles Jogan's knee momentarily.
Jogan throws a jab when Penn was well out of range.
Penn ducks under a wild hook from Jogan.
Jogan sets himself, and Penn steps forward looking for the clinch! Jogan avoids it this time.

and Penn counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jogan!
Jogan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jogan tries to get out of the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Penn decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Penn jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Penn dominated that round.
That's time! Jogan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Jogan throws a wild body kick that Penn sees coming a mile off.


It looks like Roe Jogan has been cut.
Jogan swings away with a body shot that misses
and Penn counters with a slapping leg kick.
Jogan tried to score with a low kick but Penn checks it.
Penn is looking to slow Jogan down with leg kicks.
Jogan attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Roe Jogan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Penn is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jogan's half guard.
Jogan is trying to escape back to his feet but Penn uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Penn sends Jogan crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Penn is motioning to the referee to let Jogan up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Penn batters Jogan with a massive right followed by a huge left! Jogan is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Penn lands a final crushing right hand to drop Jogan to the mat with a gruesome thud! Penn is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). James Penn!
A very excited looking James Penn made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
