PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eugene Peavris (ranked 2928 p4p, 307 weight class) and Jer Bear (ranked 3079 p4p, 325 weight class). Bear comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Good Times kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eugene Peavris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jer Bear!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oh, that's a big right hand from Peavris and Bear goes tumbling to the canvas! Peavris follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.


It looks like Jer Bear has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bear is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Peavris scores with a couple of nice shots.
Peavris controlling the pace.
Peavris drops an elbow to the side of Bear's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bear trying to hold on to Peavris's head to control him but Peavris postures up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Peavris connects with a nice short shot to Bear's temple.

Bear looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Peavris is looking to advance position but Bear won't allow it.
Bear gets back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bear has his hands on Peavris's head, controlling the position.

Bear had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Peavris defends it easily.
Bear controls Peavris momentarily but Peavris frees himself.
Bear wants to sweep but no luck.

Bear looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Peavris has picked Bear up and slammed him! Bear can't keep hold of the triangle and Peavris manages to pass to side control!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Peavris lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bear down.
Peavris wants to control but Bear is keeping him busy.
Bear sneaks back into half guard.
Peavris is looking to stall here but Bear recovers full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Peavris works over Bear with some ground and pound from guard.
Bear looking for a sweep. Not yet Bear, not yet.
Peavris cracks Bear with a solid left hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bear is on top in guard.

Bear is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bear accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bear tries to free his leg and advance position but Peavris is retaining full guard.
Bear postures up and lands a big shot to Peavris's brow.
Bear keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Peavris's head.
Peavris manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bear manages to get himself to full guard.

Peavris trying to control the position from guard on top but Bear is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bear looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Peavris wants to control from the top but Bear keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bear looking for a triangle here. Peavris is fighting it but it looks tight! Bear pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Peavris is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Jer Bear!
During a confident post fight interview, Jer Bear thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
