Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alan Patton (ranked 25451 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Chegwin (ranked 6948 p4p, 0 weight class). Chegwin has chosen Not a Saint as his entrance music. Keith Chegwin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chegwin has taken the fight to the clinch.
Chegwin misses with the head strike.

Chegwin decides to pull guard.
Chegwin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Chegwin is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Chegwin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Patton is controlling him.
Patton throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Chegwin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Patton really is a fat lump.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Patton prevents Chegwin from getting back to his feet.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Patton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Patton closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Chegwin is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Patton off and has taken his back!
Patton wants to control his opponent's hands but Chegwin gets his hands free.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chegwin is working for a rear naked choke. Patton is not defending it well and Chegwin has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Patton refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Patton's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Keith Chegwin was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
