Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Alonzo Trotter (ranked 1629 p4p, 215 weight class) and John Dux (ranked 13260 p4p, 706 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Alonzo Trotter! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 6 losses; John Dux!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Francis DeMontford and Ben Hemmingworth.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Dux gets a clinch.
Trotter has Dux pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dux manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Trotter is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dux pulls him back up using the underhooks.
I was talking to Trotter's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Trotter wants to take the fight to the mat but Dux manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dux has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Trotter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Dux escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Trotter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Trotter controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dux working for a triangle but Trotter defends it easily.
Trotter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Trotter is sitting in close to Dux's body. Dux has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Trotter is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Trotter is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Dux.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). John Dux!
Our winner, John Dux, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
