Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anderson gets a double leg takedown into Barton's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Barton wants to stand up but Anderson is controlling him.
Anderson won't allow Barton to sweep him here.

Barton looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Barton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Anderson wants to improve his position but Barton is controlling well.

Barton is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Anderson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Barton.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barton is working for a kimura but Anderson is defending it quite comfortably.

Barton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Anderson defends it well.
Anderson gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Anderson lands a decent punch to the body there.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Anderson wants to sweep here but Barton controlling him for the moment.
Barton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Anderson pulls Barton in close to prevent any damage.
Anderson is trying to control the position but Barton postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Anderson is on top in guard.


Barton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Anderson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Anderson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Anderson tries to free his leg and advance position but Barton is retaining full guard.
Anderson works over Barton with some ground and pound from guard.
Anderson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Anderson stands and steps away. Barton gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Barton tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Anderson swivels and escapes.

Barton shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Anderson manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Barton keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Barton is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barton wants to stall.
Anderson with a knee to the head.

Anderson breaks the clinch.
Anderson throws a head kick that misses.
Barton has his takedown stuffed
and Anderson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


Barton is rocked!


It looks like Alfonzo Barton has been cut.
Crack! A monster head kick from Anderson and Barton falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Anderson!
