Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hannes Haades (ranked 557 p4p, 78 weight class) and Neil Gilas (ranked 571 p4p, 83 weight class). Haades comes to the cage accompanied by Accept - Head Over Heels. Gilas has chosen Remember The Name - Fort Minor as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 4, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hannes Haades!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Neil Gilas!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Gilas there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Gilas tries to land a body kick
and Haades makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Haades takes a jab right on the kisser.
Gilas connects with a right hand. Haades shakes it off.
Haades tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gilas is able to avoid easily.
Gilas is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Haades with a body shot.
Haades throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Gilas lands a nice looking kick to the body. Haades takes a step back to recover.
Haades throws a chopping leg kick but Gilas manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Gilas fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Haades looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gilas walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Haades checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Gilas has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

We've been hearing reports that Haades has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Haades is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Gilas struggles to land a body shot inside as Haades controls his hands.

Gilas is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Haades can't fight it off and eventually Gilas manages to take the fight to the floor. Haades looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Haades fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Gilas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Haades.

Gilas looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Haades with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Neil Gilas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The fighters circle momentarily. Haades darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Neil Gilas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gilas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
