Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Elliot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jamison Cassidy!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cassidy lands a body shot.
Elliot changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cassidy tries to avoid it but Elliot manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cassidy to the ground. Cassidy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cassidy dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Elliot gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Cassidy buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Elliot fails with the takedown
and Cassidy counters with a left to the body.
Elliot fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Elliot definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Elliot. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Elliot takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Elliot darts in looking for a takedown but Cassidy gets double underhooks and turns Elliot into the cage.
Cassidy bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Cassidy fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cassidy scores with a hook to the body. Elliot takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Cassidy changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Cassidy throws a nice outside leg kick.
Elliot throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cassidy counters with a left to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cassidy lands with a thumping leg kick.
Cassidy uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Elliot takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Elliot is rocked!
Cassidy scores with a hook to the body. Elliot takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Oh Elliot is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Elliot is breathing heavily.
Cassidy punishes Elliot's body with a nice straight punch.
Elliot drops his hands momentarily. Cassidy doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Elliot staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Elliot doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jamison Cassidy!
