Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kiro Kirov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ding Dong Bang!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bang throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bang tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kirov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bang misses with a head kick.
Bang throws a right and a left that both miss.
It looked like Kirov wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Bang fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bang moves in looking to clinch but Kirov pushes him off.

Kirov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kirov controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bang working a defensive guard but Kirov passes into half guard.
Kirov keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bang is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kirov pulls his head out easily.
Kirov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Bang tries to roll over but Kirov keeps him under control.
Kirov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Kirov is nestled in close to Bang, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bang trying to hold on to Kirov's head to control him but Kirov postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bang is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Kirov is staying active.
Bang is trying to escape back to his feet but Kirov uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Kirov stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Kirov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bang tries for a takedown but Kirov circles away easily

and Kirov counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kirov.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bang jumps guard and drags Kirov to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Kirov looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Kirov sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Bang wants to control the position but Kirov says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Bang has a hand on Kirov's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Kirov takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Kirov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bang tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Bang tries to hold on but Kirov pushes him away.
Bang is wriggling around trying to escape.
Kirov sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Kirov is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kirov looking to control and managing it successfully.
Kirov working the ground and pound effectively.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kiro Kirov dominated that round.

Decent striking displayed by Bang there.

Kirov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bang's guard.
Bang is wriggling around but Kirov manages to pass to half guard.


Kirov in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Bang tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kirov!
