Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Greene (ranked 1804 p4p, 253 weight class) and Heimo Vesa (ranked 2035 p4p, 280 weight class). Greene kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Oakland. Heimo Vesa will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vesa lands with a good body shot.
Heimo Vesa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Greene misses with a double jab.
Greene misses with a wild combination.
Greene shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Vesa counters with a straight right hand.
Vesa misses with a jab, cross combination.
Greene throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Vesa lands a nice shot that snaps Greene's head back.
Vesa catches Greene with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Greene escapes and gets back to his feet.
Vesa cracks Greene with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Greene wants to clinch up but Vesa keeps it at a distance.
Greene moves forwards but Vesa connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Greene takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Greene throws a body shot but no joy.
A punch combination from Vesa misses.
Greene takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Greene moves into the clinch successfully.
Greene is looking for a takedown.
Vesa wants to break the clinch but can't.
Greene jumps guard but Vesa turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hunter Greene. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Greene changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Vesa fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Vesa bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Greene's head backwards.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Greene throws a body punch but Vesa moves out of range.

Vesa scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Hunter Greene has been cut.
Vesa looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Vesa goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Greene has Vesa up against the cage in a clinch.

Vesa breaks from the clinch.
Greene looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Vesa digs a good hook to Greene's body.
Vesa misses with a two punch combination.
Vesa is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Greene had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Greene shoots in but no luck this time.
Vesa throws a left and a right that both miss
and Greene counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Vesa thinking.
Greene walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Greene throws a sloppy head kick and Vesa moves out of range easily.
Greene has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Greene there as he acknowledges the shot.

Greene is rocked!
Greene backs away from a small jab... but Vesa lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Greene crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Vesa with a spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Heimo Vesa!
The defeated Hunter Greene had this to say: 'i'll be back, God has a plan and tonight his plan was for my ass to get kicked. I'm going to pray and train like a Tibetan monk...'.
