Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Preston Mason (ranked 3345 p4p, 160 weight class) and Keith Hector (ranked 4862 p4p, 226 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Preston Mason has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Preston Mason seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Mason tries to clinch but Hector moves out of range.

and Hector cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Mason has been working on his balance at Lovelair Muay Thai/MMA, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Hector.
Mason drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Hector leaves Mason with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hector is looking for a sweep. Mason is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hector felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mason postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Hector on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Hector doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Our winner, Preston Mason, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
