The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ronaldo gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ronaldo.
Ronaldo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gracie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
An attempted straight right counter from Gracie misses the target.
Ronaldo looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

and Ronaldo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ronaldo.
Gracie wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Ronaldo is now in half guard.

Gracie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gracie is working hard here to advance position.
Ronaldo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ronaldo pulls his head out easily.
Ronaldo tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Gracie.

Gracie is staying active underneath Ronaldo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Gracie is pressing down on Ronaldo's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Gracie trying to keep a closed guard but Ronaldo is proving a slippery customer.

Ronaldo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Gracie has his foot on Ronaldo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ronaldo works his way back into a safe position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gracie is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Ronaldo has his hands clasped together but Gracie extends and breaks Ronaldo's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Gracie.
