Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pat Barry (ranked 4481 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucjan Anielski (ranked 2985 p4p, 0 weight class). Barry comes to the cage accompanied by Sweet Dreams. Lucjan Anielski has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 30 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Lucjan Anielski!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Ben Hemmingworth and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barry shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Anielski pinned against the cage. Anielski gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
It seemed like Anielski was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Barry fails with a takedown attempt.
Anielski takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
We've been informed that Anielski has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Anielski moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Barry swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Barry counters with a low kick, right behind Anielski 's knee.
Anielski stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Anielski wants it to stay on the feet.

Barry is trying hard to land a takedown here. Anielski sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Lucjan Anielski will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Anielski unleashes a big counter combination but Barry bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Barry uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Anielski.
Horrible takedown attempt by Barry or perhaps it was just good defense by Anielski, which made it look bad.

Barry takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Pat Barry is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Anielski lands with a hook. Barry tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Anielski connects with a good right hand that stumbles Barry. Barry circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

and Barry counters with a three punch combo that has Anielski backing up. Anielski nods at Barry to acknowledge the strikes.

A frustrated look appears on Barry's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Barry blocks an uppercut.
Anielski swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Barry can't get the takedown.

Barry decides to pull guard.
Barry looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Barry is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Anielski wants to control from the top but Barry keeps moving.
Anielski wants to stand but Barry has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Barry is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Barry fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Anielski, pushing him back against the cage.

and Barry counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Anielski!


Anielski is rocked!
Barry is pressing down on Anielski's thigh, looking to free his foot. Anielski is holding on for now.
Anielski is still in real trouble! Can Barry finish him?

Barry postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Anielski to stand up.
Barry shoots in looking for a takedown. Anielski tries to sprawl out of it but Barry keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Anielski manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pat Barry dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Anielski seems to have recovered his senses.
Barry jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Anielski walks away with a smile on his face. Barry gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
A jab lands there for Anielski.
Anielski throws a hook but Barry blocks it.
Anielski misses with a series of wild punches.
It looked like Barry wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Barry will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Barry shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Anielski as he jumps to the side.

Anielski would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barry is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Barry rushes Anielski and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Barry is trying to pull guard but Anielski turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Anielski tries to land knees in the clinch but Barry avoids the damage to the body.
Anielski tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Anielski makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Barry escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Barry moves away from the strike by Anielski.
Anielski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Barry circles away quickly and effectively.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Barry fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Anielski lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lucjan Anielski comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Anielski has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
