Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Splash Wetness (ranked 2260 p4p, 318 weight class) and Howland Reed (ranked 2803 p4p, 374 weight class). Wetness comes to the cage accompanied by Pump Up The Jam- Technotronic. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Splash Wetness!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Howland Reed!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Reed misses its intended target.
Reed throws a right and a left that Wetness avoids nicely.
Reed swats away the attempt to clinch by Wetness.
A nice inside leg kick there by Wetness. That's going to slow Reed down.
Wetness misses with a jab, cross combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wetness lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Wetness.

Wetness slaps away a takedown attempt from Reed, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Wetness seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Wetness fails to land with a series of punches.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Reed has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Reed takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Reed will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wetness looks for the body kick but Reed saw that one coming.

Wetness lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Reed circles away quickly and effectively.

Reed shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Reed was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Wetness explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Splash Wetness is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Wetness rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Reed moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

We've been told by Wetness's head coaches at Nuclear Physiques that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A left and a right from Wetness both land. Nice combination.

Wetness lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Reed connects with a looping right hand.
Wetness scores with a nice strike.
Reed takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Wetness looks to land a combination but Reed avoids it well.

Wetness wants to stand up but Reed is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Reed shoots for a double leg takedown but Wetness sprawls well. He's pushed Reed's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Reed shoots in looking for a takedown but Wetness manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Reed's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wetness, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
