Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Cole (ranked 506 p4p, 60 weight class) and Alexander Pichushkin (ranked 610 p4p, 73 weight class). Cole's entrance music is I Won't Back Down. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pichushkin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

and Cole counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Cole looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

and Pichushkin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Cole uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Cole stuffs the takedown attempt from Pichushkin. Pichushkin gets slowly back to his feet.

Cole appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Alexander Pichushkin has been cut.
Pichushkin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Cole works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Cole shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pichushkin's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cole is in close to Pichushkin's body, working some short punches and elbows.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
