PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Volchenko (ranked 20018 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk McDirk (ranked 2879 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Volchenko might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Roar of the Lion. Dirk McDirk told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volchenko moves to clinch but McDirk breaks away
and Volchenko takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Volchenko connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between McDirk's hands.
McDirk slips a jab and a cross from Volchenko.
McDirk throws out a counter right but Volchenko avoids it with no problem.
Volchenko tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but McDirk defends well and Volchenko ends up having to push McDirk into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and McDirk counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Volchenko walks into a left hand.
McDirk ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Volchenko tries to close the distance and clinch up but McDirk swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and McDirk counters with a nice body shot.

and McDirk counters with a left to the body.
Volchenko is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McDirk cracks a nice hook into Volchenko's ribs.
McDirk connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
McDirk scores with a jab to the head.
McDirk stuns Volchenko with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
McDirk thuds a left hand into Volchenko's body.
A punch lands to the side of Volchenko 's head but he takes it in his stride.

McDirk drops Volchenko with a beautiful combination! Volchenko stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - McDirk is looking for the KO!

Volchenko is rocked!

It looks like Ivan Volchenko has been cut.

McDirk works Volchenko's body with a nice hook.
Nice uppercut there from McDirk.
Oh Volchenko is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McDirk lands a big right hook! Volchenko looks hurt but is still standing! McDirk lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Volchenko falls down and McDirk dives in with a huge hammer fist! Volchenko's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and McDirk runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
