Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Timiko Chen Lo!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alvey Kulina!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chen Lo throws a head kick but Kulina moves out of range.
Kulina has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Chen Lo is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Chen Lo moves out of range of the strikes.
Chen Lo lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Alvey Kulina has been cut.
Chen Lo drops Kulina with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kulina looks back up at him and smiles so Chen Lo waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Kulina is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chen Lo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kulina looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Kulina is still on wobbly legs! Can Chen Lo finish him?
Chen Lo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kulina was well out of range. Poor timing from Chen Lo.
Chen Lo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Chen Lo was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Chen Lo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kulina throws out the jab.
Chen Lo cracks Kulina with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Kulina looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Chen Lo finish him?
A head kick misses from Chen Lo.
Chen Lo missing with a left hand there. Kulina was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kulina throws out a counter right but Chen Lo avoids it with no problem.
Chen Lo looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kulina misses with a hook
and Chen Lo counters with a crisp right that sends Kulina to the canvas! Chen Lo follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Timiko Chen Lo!
