Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandar Kamenov (ranked 4387 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calero Sanchez (ranked 5285 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kamenov might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Korn - Hey Daddy. Calero Sanchez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aleksandar Kamenov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Calero Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kamenov moves out of range of the body kick from Sanchez.
Kamenov avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Kamenov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kamenov showed some decent athleticism there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kamenov frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kamenov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kamenov takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Sanchez manages to reverse the position and now he's in Kamenov's guard. Nice work there by Sanchez.

Kamenov has Sanchez pulled in close to control his posture.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Kamenov seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kamenov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez avoids it really well and circles away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sanchez looks to land a left hand but Kamenov moved out of range nicely.

and Sanchez counters with a stiff right hand.
Aleksandar Kamenov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sanchez throws a low kick but Kamenov avoids it.
Sanchez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kamenov.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aleksandar Kamenov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sanchez throws a big shot that misses.
An attempted straight right counter from Kamenov misses the target.

Kamenov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kamenov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

A close round but Calero Sanchez will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sanchez throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Sanchez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sanchez cracks Kamenov with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


It looks like Aleksandar Kamenov has been cut.

Sanchez cracks Kamenov with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Kamenov looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Sanchez finish him?


Kamenov is rocked!
Sanchez throws a body punch but Kamenov moves out of range.
Kamenov throws a quick counter kick to the body but Sanchez avoids it.
Oh Kamenov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sanchez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kamenov seems to have got his legs back now.
Kamenov shoots in looking for a takedown but Sanchez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kamenov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sanchez misses with a hook. Kamenov ducked under it nicely.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Sanchez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sanchez wants it to stay on the feet.
Kamenov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez avoids it really well and circles away.

Kamenov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sanchez but Sanchez pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kamenov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sanchez pinned against the cage. Sanchez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kamenov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sanchez circles away.

Sanchez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kamenov.
Sanchez lands a really nice looking cross but Kamenov seems unphased.

Kamenov throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sanchez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kamenov is in Sanchez's guard.
Kamenov wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.

Kamenov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kamenov pushes down on Sanchez's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kamenov slows the pace down in half guard.

Kamenov passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Sanchez!
Sanchez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sanchez is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kamenov sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Sanchez wants to hold on but Kamenov pushes him away.
Sanchez can't escape the position.
Kamenov controlling the position easily from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Calero Sanchez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Aleksandar Kamenov's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Kamenov fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sanchez to the ground. Kamenov is now in Sanchez's guard.
Sanchez can't keep his opponent in guard - Kamenov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Kamenov fails to move to back control.
Aleksandar Kamenov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kamenov avoids the attempt from Sanchez to control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sanchez can do anything to dispel that myth.

Aleksandar Kamenov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sanchez tries to reverse the position but Kamenov maintains control.
Calero Sanchez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Sanchez tries to hold on but Kamenov postures up.
Sanchez really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Sanchez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kamenov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sanchez is looking to improve his position but Kamenov isn't that keen on the idea.

Kamenov lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Sanchez hang on?

And that's the end of the fight!
Aleksandar Kamenov showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Sanchez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
