PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Solomon Slater (ranked 4633 p4p, 472 weight class) and Demetrius Tektas (ranked 1603 p4p, 193 weight class). Tektas has chosen Alexander The Great as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Solomon Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Demetrius Tektas!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater tries a head kick but it misses.

Tektas drives through with a takedown into Slater's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Slater manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tektas drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Slater dives on top into guard.

Tektas is looking to stand up but Slater isn't so interested in that idea.
Slater has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tektas is proving hard to escape from.

Tektas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Slater knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tektas on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Tektas fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Slater displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tektas throws out the jab.
