Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Mo (ranked 3238 p4p, 65 weight class) and Carl Sands (ranked 2129 p4p, 48 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Sands's choice of entrance music: Hip Hop - By: Dead Prez. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jan Mo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Sands!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Russell Pearce and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mo throws a poor cross that misses
and Sands counters with a nice uppercut.
Mo missing with a left hand there. Sands was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sands displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mo throws out the jab.

The crowd cheers as Sands lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mo doesn't seem phased though.

Mo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.


It looks like Carl Sands has been cut.
Mo looks to score with a jab to the body but Sands is just out of range.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Sands working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Mo tries to buck Sands off but Sands is having none of it.
Sands is looking to take a break and control but Mo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sands seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Sands loads up with a big shot that hurts Mo! He's pulled Sands in close but Sands has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Mo survive? More strikes from Sands and Mo is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
