Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lucas Hood!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hood rushes Monteiro and presses him up against the cage.
Monteiro tries to work over Hood's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Monteiro tries to land a knee to the head but Hood blocks with his arms.
Hood tries for a takedown. No joy.

Monteiro's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hood misses with a looping right.
Monteiro throws a leg kick
letting Hood counter with a right hand.

It looks like Tony Monteiro has been cut.
Hood tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Monteiro manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hood takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Monteiro throws out a loose jab but Hood uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hood looks to land a combination but Monteiro avoids it well.
Hood uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Monteiro.
Hood stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Hood has closed the distance and engaged Monteiro in a clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Monteiro.
Hood tries a body shot but Monteiro blocks it.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hood misses with the head strike.
Monteiro presses Hood against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Hood's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Monteiro using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hood has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Monteiro lands with a light punch inside.
Hood lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Hood lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Monteiro backwards.

Monteiro breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hood swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Monteiro pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Hood back to the cage. Monteiro follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Lucas Hood has been cut.
A lazy left from Monteiro finds it's target.
Monteiro looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A combination from Hood does no damage.
Monteiro tries to counter by clinching up but Hood breaks away and moves out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hood. Monteiro does a little dance to reset his feet.
Monteiro closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Hood tries to clinch but Monteiro is having none of it.
Monteiro misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hood.
Hood tries to clinch up.
A punch lands to the side of Hood 's head but he takes it in his stride.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Monteiro tries to work over Hood's front leg with a kick but Hood checks it.
Monteiro scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Monteiro scores with a nice strike.
Hood on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Monteiro. Monteiro obviously looking to wear him down.
Monteiro looks to score with a jab to the body but Hood is just out of range.

Hood tries to keep at a distance but Monteiro has taken the fight into the clinch.
Monteiro goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Monteiro blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hood lands a hook to the side of the head.
Hood swings wildly with an uppercut but Monteiro uses good head movement to avoid it.
Monteiro working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Monteiro scores with a nice hook to the head.
Monteiro lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Hood lands a nice uppercut.

Monteiro is rocked!
Hood digs a right hand underneath Monteiro's ribcage. Monteiro let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Oh Monteiro is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Monteiro blocking some punches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hood.

Hood is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Monteiro can't fight it off and eventually Hood manages to take the fight to the floor. Monteiro looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hood with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Hood postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Monteiro covers up, he's hurt! Hood keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Hood and the ref steps in to end the fight! Hood can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
