Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Kelly (ranked 6100 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Banks (ranked 6047 p4p, 639 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Kelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Travis Banks!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Eliza Hachem and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelly fails with a takedown attempt.
Banks slaps away a takedown attempt from Kelly, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Banks gets a clinch.
Banks throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Kelly blocks it with crossed arms.
Kelly is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Banks gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Kelly. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Banks wants to take the fight to the mat but Kelly manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kelly misses with an elbow strike.
Banks wants to break the clinch but can't.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Kelly.
Banks is trying to stall.

Kelly breaks from the clinch.
Kelly fails with a takedown attempt.
Kelly displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Banks.
Banks chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Banks shoots in but Kelly avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kelly fails to land the takedown.

Banks moves into the clinch.
Kelly tries to land knees in the clinch but Banks avoids the damage to the body.
Kelly blocks a body shot from Banks.

Kelly pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kelly dives in for a single leg takedown but Banks sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
As Kelly backs off Banks throws a huge counter combo but Kelly manages to avoid it all.
Crunch! Kelly slams his shin into Banks's torso.
Kelly goes for a double leg but Banks avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Banks continues to drive forward.
Banks throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kelly's waist but Kelly gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Banks off to one side.
Kelly fails with a takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kelly darts in looking for a takedown but Banks gets double underhooks and turns Kelly into the cage.
Kelly is breathing heavily.

Banks changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kelly looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kelly throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Banks dives in for a single leg takedown but Kelly sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Banks gets a clinch.
Kelly tries to land knees in the clinch but Banks avoids the damage to the body.
Banks tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Banks is looking to take this one to the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Banks is pressed up against the cage. Kelly has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Banks down to the mat. Banks avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Banks shoots for a double leg takedown but Kelly sprawls well. He's pushed Banks's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kelly is defended easily by Banks.
Kelly displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Banks.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kelly.
Kelly shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Banks as he jumps to the side.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kelly fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Banks avoids it really well and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Travis Banks will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kelly keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kelly shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Banks as he jumps to the side.
Banks feints the counter takedown.
Kelly shoots for a double leg takedown but Banks sprawls well. He's pushed Kelly's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Banks wants to counter the offense by Kelly and move into the clinch position.
Banks throws a head kick that misses.

Banks has managed to clinch.
Banks is looking to break free of the clinch but Kelly has double underhooks.

It looks like Travis Banks has been cut.
Banks is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kelly is defending well.
Jimmy Kelly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Travis Banks.
Banks is breathing heavily.

Kelly has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Banks after a bit of a struggle.
Kelly drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kelly works on Banks's body with a couple of short punches.
Banks prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kelly is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Banks is defending well for now.

Banks gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Kelly looking for a guillotine here but Banks defends easily.
Kelly is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kelly with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Banks gets full guard.
Kelly will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Banks wants to sweep here but Kelly controlling him for the moment.
Kelly cracks Banks with a solid left hand.
Kelly is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Banks working for a triangle but Kelly defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kelly content to stall in guard here.
Kelly missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kelly works a leg free and moves into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jimmy Kelly will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Travis Banks's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Kelly tries for a takedown but Banks sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Banks fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kelly to the ground. Banks is now in Kelly's guard.

Kelly wriggles free and stands up.
Kelly misses with a takedown attempt - Banks sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Kelly clinches up against the cage.
Banks is trying to pull guard but Kelly turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Banks stalling the fight.
Kelly changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Banks fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Kelly. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Banks takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Kelly shoots in looking for a takedown. Banks tries to sprawl out of it but Kelly keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Banks manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Banks moves into the clinch.
Kelly taking a breather.
Banks is trying to push Kelly away but Kelly has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
The referee is keeping an eye on Kelly - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Banks jumps guard but Kelly turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Banks wants a takedown.
Banks is pressed up against the cage. Kelly has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Banks down to the mat. Banks avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Sloppy strikes from Banks. Those never looked like landing.

Banks moves into the clinch.
Kelly is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Banks is defending well for now.
Kelly looking for a takedown.
Kelly taking a breather.

Kelly manages to pull guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Banks lands a couple of digs.

Kelly looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kelly controlling the position.

Banks drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kelly dives on top into guard.

Kelly slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Kelly tries to free his leg and advance position but Banks is retaining full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kelly is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Banks looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kelly is one step ahead there.
Kelly engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kelly sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Banks's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jimmy Kelly showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Kelly has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
