Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Miller (ranked 4625 p4p, 529 weight class) and Emanuel Rodrigez (ranked 5176 p4p, 569 weight class). Emanuel Rodrigez acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Emanuel Rodrigez!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigez wants to clinch but Miller slips to the side
and Miller counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Emanuel Rodrigez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rodrigez shoots and misses
and Rodrigez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rodrigez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Miller wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Miller gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rodrigez to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Miller manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rodrigez manages to get himself to full guard.

Miller got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rodrigez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Miller has managed to get both his arms back between Rodrigez's legs - danger averted.
Miller is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at LOD: BAD BOY MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodrigez is trying to control the position but Miller postures up.

Rodrigez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Miller can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Miller is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rodrigez is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Rodrigez tries to land a sweep but no joy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Miller has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rodrigez is proving hard to escape from.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Miller jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Rodrigez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Miller paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rodrigez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Miller lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Rodrigez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Miller counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Jason Miller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Emanuel Rodrigez.

Miller closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Miller lands in his opponent's guard.

Miller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rodrigez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rodrigez looking for a guillotine here but Miller defends easily.

Rodrigez looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Miller puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Miller knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rodrigez on the ground.

Rodrigez wants to get back to full guard but Miller has passed into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Rodrigez takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Miller scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Miller lands a nice hook to Rodrigez's body. Rodrigez takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Miller is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rodrigez can do to turn this around?

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Miller makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Rodrigez is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Miller cracks Rodrigez with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Miller has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Rodrigez to stand back up!

Miller throws a monster overhand right that drops Rodrigez! Miller follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
