The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stalin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Poole could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Stalin throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Poole takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Stalin throws a nice head kick!

It looks like Von Poole has been cut.
Stalin throws a series of punches but Poole avoids them all with ease.

Stalin gets caught flat footed, as Poole shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Poole is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Poole is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Poole might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Poole won't allow Stalin to get back to his feet.

Poole is standing up over Stalin. Stalin looks to escape but Poole dives into side control.
Stalin is trying to buck Poole off.

Poole is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stalin has escaped the position, nice work there.

Poole has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Poole tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Stalin defends well and Poole ends up having to push Stalin into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Poole shoots in and bounces Stalin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Stalin wants to get back to his feet but Poole passes into half guard.

Poole throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Stalin is kicking away at Poole from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Poole grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Stalin trying to push Poole off... Stalin taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
