Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fuddy Duddy (ranked 3088 p4p, 341 weight class) and Amish Mehra (ranked 1547 p4p, 187 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mehra waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Duddy.
Duddy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mehra dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Duddy slips a straight right by Mehra.
Duddy swings for the body but Mehra moves out of range.
Duddy misses the body punch
and Mehra counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Mehra jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Duddy misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Mehra counters with a big uppercut that knocks Duddy off his feet! Mehra dives into side control looking to finish!

Duddy is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Duddy tries to improve position but can't.
Oh Duddy is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mehra just content to control the position.
Duddy seems to have got his legs back now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duddy manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Mehra is in trouble now - Duddy has advanced to mount!

Duddy is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Mehra is surviving well by controlling Duddy's body position as best he can.

Duddy looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duddy avoids the attempt from Mehra to control.

Duddy forces the positional change into back control.
Duddy has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Mehra is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Duddy is looking for a choke. Mehra gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Mehra manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
