PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Raoul De Muerta (ranked 1476 p4p, 197 weight class) and Dean Corll (ranked 1396 p4p, 188 weight class). De Muerta kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Crystal Method. Corll is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by South Texas Death Ride. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Muerta tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Corll is able to avoid easily.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Corll has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

A nice side step and Corll releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Corll throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around De Muerta's waist but De Muerta gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Corll off to one side.

Corll lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

De Muerta has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for De Muerta, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
