The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dassler fails with the takedown
and Laureana counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Dassler dives in and grabs Laureana's left leg, looking for a takedown. Laureana pushes down on Dassler's head and hops out.
Dassler tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Laureana swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rudi Dassler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fighters circling - Laureana throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Laureana is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dassler defends it well.

Laureana got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dassler has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Laureana has managed to get both his arms back between Dassler's legs - danger averted.

Dassler is looking to cinch up a triangle. Laureana throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Dassler's body to avoid the submission. Dassler has instead reached around Laureana's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Dassler arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
