The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Barros drives through with a takedown into guard.
De Barros won't allow Joints to get back to his feet.
Joints controls De Barros momentarily but De Barros frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De Barros advances to half guard.
De Barros takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
De Barros trying to mount his opponent but Joints defends it.
Joints is trying to get back to full guard.
De Barros is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
De Barros is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! De Barros extends the arm and Joints is forced to tap!
