Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yoshihiro Nakayama (ranked 3389 p4p, 351 weight class) and Jake Bird (ranked 9364 p4p, 689 weight class). Nakayama's entrance music is Destructive Power. A fine choice. Jake Bird acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshihiro Nakayama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake Bird!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Bird.
Nakayama swings for the body but Bird moves out of range.
Nakayama with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Bird gets a clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Bird - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
A short right from Bird.

Bird breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bird is looking to clinch but Nakayama is avoiding it.
Bird ducks under a wild hook from Nakayama.
Bird throws out a counter right but Nakayama avoids it with no problem.
Yoshihiro Nakayama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bird tries to clinch there but Nakayama circles away.

Bird forces Nakayama back against the cage and clinches.
Bird lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Bird can't find room to land a body shot as Nakayama controls the action.

Bird breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bird uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nakayama.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bird moves away from the strike by Nakayama.
Nakayama jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Nakayama missing with a left hand there. Bird was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Oooooh!!! Bird has knocked Nakayama down with a huge combo! Bird steps away and waves a wobbly Nakayama back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Bird avoids a punch combination nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Nakayama manages to break the clinch.

Bird has managed to clinch.

Nakayama breaks the clinch.

Bird clinches up against the cage.
Nakayama has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Nakayama wants to get back to striking at distance but Bird won't allow it.
Bird lands a right hand that snaps the head of Nakayama backwards.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Bird creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Nakayama can't break the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Bird scores with a nice short uppercut.

Nakayama is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nakayama tries to throw a body punch but Bird avoids it by throwing Nakayama back against the cage.
Nakayama's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Oh Nakayama is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bird swings wildly with an uppercut but Nakayama uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bird lands a body punch.
Bird throws a punch but it's blocked by Nakayama.
Bird tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Nakayama seems to have got his legs back now.
Bird creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Nakayama's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Nakayama drops to his knees and Bird pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

In his post fight interview, Jake Bird started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
