PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Evgeni Lomachenko (ranked 3295 p4p, 337 weight class) and Simon Jensen (ranked 2306 p4p, 255 weight class). Jensen comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Imagine Dragons - On Top of the World kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lomachenko tries to clinch there but Jensen circles away.
Jensen lands a jab.
Jensen moves into range and connects with a jab.
Lomachenko has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
A jab from Jensen misses.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jensen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Jensen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lomachenko throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Lomachenko lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lomachenko drops back looking for a leg! Jensen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jensen manages to kick Lomachenko off! Lomachenko jumps back into Jensen's guard.

Jensen has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lomachenko is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jensen.

Lomachenko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Jensen can't do much from the bottom here.

Lomachenko is trying to get an arm triangle but Jensen is defending well.
Jensen takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Lomachenko in side control lands a decent elbow.

Lomachenko tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lomachenko has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Lomachenko cracks Jensen with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Jensen is rocked!
Lomachenko tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Jensen is still in real trouble! Can Lomachenko finish him?
Jensen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lomachenko wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Lomachenko cracks Jensen with a big right hand but Jensen just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Jensen is looking to regain half guard here but Lomachenko keeps moving and retains side control.
A big shot lands for Lomachenko! That's hurt Jensen! Will he recover? Lomachenko fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
