Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Juan Corona (ranked 1629 p4p, 165 weight class) and Danilo Gentili (ranked 1454 p4p, 145 weight class). Danilo Gentili told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Juan Corona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Danilo Gentili!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gentili misses with a double jab
letting Corona counter with a right hand.
Corona's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gentili under the eye.
Corona misses with a hook. Gentili ducked under it nicely.
Corona looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gentili will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gentili throws a sloppy head kick and Corona moves out of range easily.
Gentili moves into range and clinches up with Corona.
Gentili tries to pull guard but Corona holds him up against the cage and eventually Gentili drops back down to his feet.
Corona lands with a right to the head.

Juan Corona has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danilo Gentili.
Corona lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gentili backwards.
A short uppercut from Corona.
Corona breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A cross from Corona lands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gentili shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Corona napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Gentili tries for a kimura but Corona is defending well.
Gentili prevents Corona from escaping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gentili works to advance to full mount. Corona defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Gentili looking to control but Corona is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Gentili moves to take his opponent's back.

Gentili working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Corona trying to get back to his feet but Gentili is in full control for now.

Gentili is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Corona has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Corona is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Gentili gets his way!
Gentili sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Corona taps out!
