Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leon Cotton (ranked 2809 p4p, 334 weight class) and Roy Benavidez (ranked 2598 p4p, 313 weight class). Cotton comes to the cage accompanied by Humble by: Kendrick Lamar. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cotton looks to land a left hand but Benavidez moved out of range nicely.
Cotton takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Benavidez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

It looks like Leon Cotton has been cut.

Benavidez cracks Cotton with an uppercut from hell and Cotton crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Benavidez's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cotton has his foot on Benavidez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Benavidez works his way back into a safe position though.
Oh Cotton is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cotton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cotton seems to have got his legs back now.
Benavidez pushes down on Cotton's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Benavidez wants to work for an arm triangle but Cotton is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Benavidez is looking for a kimura but Cotton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Benavidez to get the leverage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Benavidez advances to mount.

Cotton tries to improve his position but Benavidez has taken his back! Benavidez has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Cotton tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Benavidez pushes Cotton away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
