Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Bright (ranked 24513 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brett Day (ranked 8060 p4p, 644 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Christopher Bright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Brett Day!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bright shoots in but no luck this time.

Bright closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Day has one foot on Bright's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Day rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bright moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
As Day looks to move away, Bright throws a big counter combo but Day just gets out of the way.
Day scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Day looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bright is fending him off so far but Day persists. Nope, Bright circles away and we're back to standing.

Bright fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Day, pushing him back against the cage.
Bright prevents a body shot from Day.

Day escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bright steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Day.
It looked like Bright was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

No luck for Day with that takedown attempt.

Day moves into range and clinches up with Bright.
A knee to the head by Bright.
Bright is looking to take this one to the mat.

Day manages to break the clinch.
Bright is looking to clinch.
Bright blocks a head kick by Day.
Day shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bright as he jumps to the side.
Christopher Bright has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brett Day.

Day shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bright pinned against the cage. Bright gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

It looks like Christopher Bright has been cut.
Day will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bright really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Day misses with the combination.
As Day looks to move away, Bright throws a big counter combo but Day just gets out of the way.

Day pushes Bright up against the cage in a clinch.
Day is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Day tries to stall but Bright uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Day manages to pull guard.
Bright is in close to Day's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Bright is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Bright trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Bright stands up from Day's guard - Bright perhaps looking for a knockout.

Bright tries to close the distance and clinch but Day swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Bright swats away the attempt to clinch by Day.
Day throws a head kick that misses
and Bright counters with a three punch combo that has Day backing up. Day nods at Bright to acknowledge the strikes.
Day swings and misses with a shot to the body
letting Bright counter with a right hand.
Day scores with a sloppy right hand. Bright should have avoided that one.
Bright tries to clinch up but Day circles away and keeps his distance.

Bright has Day up against the cage in a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Day prevents a takedown attempt there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Bright looking to throw knees to the head but Day is blocking nicely.
Day tries to score a body lock takedown but Bright shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Bright wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Day utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bright will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bright stands up and waves to Day to follow him.

Bright displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Day.
A quick step to the side and Bright tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bright is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Day gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Day blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Bright is trying to force a seperation but Day has the dominant position.
Day has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bright wants a takedown but no success here.

Day looks to land a combination but Bright avoids it well.

Day looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Brett Day seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Bright ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Day moves away.

and Bright counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Bright tries to close the distance and clinch up but Day swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Bright counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Bright tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Day scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Day keeps the fight on the outside.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Christopher Bright.
Well Day has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
