Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Apollo drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
It looks like DJ Apollo has been cut.
Apollo misses with a hook. Gniewek ducked under it nicely.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Apollo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Apollo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gniewek stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Gniewek misses with an uppercut. Apollo saw that one coming.
Gniewek closes the distance and pushes Apollo back into the cage.
Apollo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Apollo throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Apollo fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Apollo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A jab from Apollo misses.
Gniewek darts in and clinches Apollo up against the cage.
Apollo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Gniewek manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Gniewek throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Apollo escapes and throws Gniewek's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Gniewek is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Apollo's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Apollo is thwarting Gniewek's attempts to control the position.
Apollo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Apollo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
