PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between George Allen (ranked 4879 p4p, 496 weight class) and Gannicus The Gladiator (ranked 1864 p4p, 204 weight class). Allen comes into the arena with The Monster blaring out of the sound system. The Gladiator has chosen I.M.Sin as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen throws a poor cross that misses
and The Gladiator counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Allen thinking.
Allen misses with a left hand
and The Gladiator counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like George Allen has been cut.
Allen has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Gorilla Warfare Academy in the buildup to the fight.
The Gladiator lands with a right, followed by a left to the temple and Allen goes down! The ref sends The Gladiator to a neutral corner so he can begin the count. 3,4,5,6 and Allen is back to his feet. He seems a little groggy but the referee thinks he's OK to continue, so we're back to the action!
The Gladiator connects with a quick right hand that sends Allen tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!
