Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Javier Jimenez (ranked 5097 p4p, 458 weight class) and Igor Wietrzny (ranked 7651 p4p, 0 weight class). Wietrzny has chosen Hunter-Fallen as his entrance music. Igor Wietrzny has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bruno Javier Jimenez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 37 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Igor Wietrzny!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wietrzny forces Jimenez back against the cage and clinches.
Wietrzny working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
A nice right hand lands inside from Wietrzny.
Wietrzny lands an uppercut.
Jimenez definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Wietrzny lands with a right to the head.
Jimenez fails to pull guard.
Wietrzny scores with a shot to the side of Jimenez's head.

Wietrzny has picked Jimenez up - he's going for a ride! Wietrzny dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Jimenez kicks Wietrzny off and gets back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wietrzny looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Wietrzny won't allow Jimenez to get back to his feet.

Wietrzny gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Wietrzny clinches with his opponent.
Jimenez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wietrzny just stands there and leans against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Wietrzny gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Jimenez regains guard.
Wietrzny pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jimenez is keeping the position for now.

Wietrzny got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jimenez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wietrzny has managed to get both his arms back between Jimenez's legs - danger averted.
Jimenez looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jimenez is wriggling around but Wietrzny manages to pass to half guard.
Wietrzny looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Jimenez gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wietrzny engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Jimenez tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Jimenez is looking for a triangle but Wietrzny pushes his legs off easily.

Jimenez has his foot on Wietrzny's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wietrzny works his way back into a safe position though.
Jimenez trying to keep a closed guard but Wietrzny is proving a slippery customer.
Wietrzny controlling from the top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wietrzny postures up.
Wietrzny passes easily into side control. Nice work.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wietrzny looks winded!
Jimenez is trying to control Wietrzny's posture but Wietrzny avoids it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jimenez tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Jimenez lands a left and a right that send Wietrzny crashing to the mat, dazed. Jimenez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Wietrzny is rocked!
Jimenez takes one to the chin there.
Jimenez throws a pinpoint strike between Wietrzny's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Wietrzny crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Jimenez scores a great knockout victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bruno Javier Jimenez!
