Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jiri Sayonara (ranked 77 p4p, 11 weight class) and Farboleous Ricard (ranked 192 p4p, 23 weight class). Sayonara comes into the arena with Edge Of The Blade blaring out of the sound system. Ricard has chosen Vibe Killer as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Farboleous Ricard!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ricard throws a body kick that misses.
Ricard keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And Ricard tries to counter it with a takedown but Sayonara pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Sayonara darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Sayonara is looking to counter with a body kick.

Sayonara has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LOD The Shark Tank in the buildup to the fight.
Ricard scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Sayonara swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Sayonara counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Sayonara tries to sprawl but Ricard drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sayonara is controlling Ricard's trapped leg to prevent Ricard from advancing to side control.
Ricard tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sayonara knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Ricard not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Ricard is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Sayonara looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Ricard! Submission of the night perhaps?
