Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Boyfriend (ranked 3816 p4p, 401 weight class) and John Dio (ranked 4768 p4p, 491 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyfriend takes a swing at Dio's ribcage but misses.
Boyfriend rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dio moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Boyfriend slips a jab and a cross from Dio.
Dio swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
As Dio looks to move away, Boyfriend throws a big counter combo but Dio just gets out of the way.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Boyfriend!
Dio stalks Boyfriend and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Boyfriend's face. Boyfriend staggers backwards, shaken.
Nice uppercut there from Boyfriend.
Dio has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A punch lands to the side of Dio 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nice takedown defense from Boyfriend. No joy for Dio on that attempt.
Boyfriend throws a right and a left that Dio avoids nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Dio wants to get back to striking at distance but Boyfriend won't allow it.
Dio wants to take the fight to the mat but Boyfriend manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Boyfriend will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Dio up against the cage.

Dio has Boyfriend pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Dio pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Boyfriend tumbling to the mat - Dio dives into Boyfriend's guard.

Boyfriend bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dio's guard.

Dio is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dio passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Boyfriend!
Boyfriend tries to lock up and control but Dio gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Boyfriend is squirming around, avoiding Dio's attempts to control the action.
Boyfriend is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Dio connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

It looks like Daniel Boyfriend has been cut.

Daniel Boyfriend's cut is getting worse.
Dio is scoring with a succession of shots from the back. Boyfriend is covering up - he's had enough and the ref steps in to end the fight!
