Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between King Diamond (ranked 3694 p4p, 358 weight class) and Siete Finess (ranked 4107 p4p, 399 weight class). King Diamond has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, King Diamond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Siete Finess!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Finess closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Diamond quickly recovers to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Finess performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
My spies in Spar Bros inform me that Finess has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Diamond is controlling Finess's position as best he can from this difficult position.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Diamond holds on and takes a little breather.

Diamond is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Diamond dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Finess tries to clinch there but Diamond circles away.
An attempted straight right counter from Diamond misses the target.
Diamond fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Finess looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Diamond ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Diamond punishes Finess's body with a nice straight punch.
Finess blocks a head kick by Diamond.
Diamond stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Diamond tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Finess is able to avoid easily.
Finess on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Diamond throws a sloppy head kick and Finess moves out of range easily.
Finess takes one to the chin there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A decent looking cross lands there for Diamond.

Diamond instigates a clinch.
Finess's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Diamond lands a shot to the body.

Finess has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Diamond clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Diamond trying to control the action but Finess just sinks the hooks in.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Finess working for a choke but Diamond is defending well.

Finess has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Diamond has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Diamond just trying to survive but Finess is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Finess looking to break Diamond's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Diamond remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Finess will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Finess thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Diamond is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Diamond wants to control his opponent's hands but Finess gets his hands free.

Finess is persistently looking for the submission but Diamond is defending it well.
Diamond tries to escape but Finess has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Finess is controlling the position but Diamond somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Finess trying to control the position from guard on top but Diamond is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Finess looking to sit in guard and control but Diamond gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Finess can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Diamond controls the pace.

Diamond is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Finess can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Diamond controls the pace.
Finess wants to sweep here but Diamond controlling him for the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Finess is on top in guard.

Finess wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Diamond, who protects the arm well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Diamond tries to bench press Finess off him but Finess keeps the position.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Diamond is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Finess can do to turn this around?
Finess is nestled in close to Diamond, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That was a close second round but I would say that King Diamond will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Finess is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Finess looks to land a combination but Diamond avoids it well.

Finess jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Diamond walks away with a smile on his face. Finess gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Finess on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Finess is trying to pull guard but Diamond has him pressed against the cage.

Diamond slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Diamond is working Finess over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Finess walks into a jab.
A head kick misses from Diamond.
Finess is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Diamond scores with a jab. Finess acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Diamond connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Diamond lands a glancing blow to the side of Finess's head.
Finess lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Diamond circles away quickly and effectively.
Finess tries to clinch up but Diamond circles away and keeps his distance.
Diamond throws a low kick but it's checked well by Finess.
King Diamond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diamond fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Finess shoots in looking for a takedown but Diamond manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Finess's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
King Diamond has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Siete Finess.

Finess tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Diamond's elbow.

Diamond breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Diamond misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Diamond keeps the fight on the outside.
Diamond thuds a left hand into Finess's body.
Diamond tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Finess postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Diamond wants to sweep here but Finess controlling him for the moment.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Finess has gone for a leg lock! Diamond slips out almost immediately though and dives into Finess's guard.

Siete Finess has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

King Diamond showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Diamond, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
