Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jin Jin Ipa (ranked 2169 p4p, 235 weight class) and Marshall Banks (ranked 3843 p4p, 374 weight class). Banks has chosen L.D Poppin as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Marshall Banks!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jonathan Paton and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Banks.
Banks throws out a powerful jab.
Ipa ducks under a wild hook from Banks.
Ipa tries to counter with a takedown but Banks is quick to defend against it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ipa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Banks tests Ipa's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Banks lands a jab to the nose.
Banks lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Ipa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Banks swivels and escapes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ipa takes one to the side of the head.
Banks throws a shot from downtown. Ipa moves away and avoids it.
Banks lands with a cross.

Banks gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ipa to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Banks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ipa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ipa is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Banks has momentary wrist control but Ipa slips an elbow through the middle.

Ipa is working Banks over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Ipa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Banks wants to stand but Ipa is controlling the position.

Ipa has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Banks has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Ipa is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Ipa is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Banks pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jin Jin Ipa. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ipa gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Banks regains guard.
Ipa postures up and lands a big shot to Banks's brow.
Ipa makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Ipa stands up over Banks, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Banks is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ipa is controlling him.
Ipa is in close to Banks's body, working some short punches and elbows.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ipa distracts Banks with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Banks trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Banks doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Banks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ipa with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Banks looking for a sweep. Not yet Banks, not yet.

Ipa drops back looking for a leg! Banks is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Banks manages to kick Ipa off! Ipa jumps back into Banks's guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Banks has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Ipa slips under a jab from Banks.
Ipa attempts a counter takedown but Banks avoids it well and moves away.

Banks loads up on a big right hand but Ipa slips the punch.
Ipa goes for a double leg but Banks avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Banks continues to drive forward.

Ipa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ipa is looking to take a break and control but Banks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ipa lands a nice forearm strike.

Ipa wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Banks, who protects the arm well.
Banks wants to get back to his feet but Ipa is dominant here and he's now got Banks's back!
Ipa scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Banks is looking for a way out.
Will Ipa go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Ipa sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Banks taps out!
