Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Francesco Skrarez (ranked 7643 p4p, 456 weight class) and Arod Doyea (ranked 8331 p4p, 484 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Doyea tenderised Skrarez's leg. Skrarez is trying to keep his angry face on.

Skrarez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Skrarez lands in his opponent's guard.
Doyea is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

My spies in Nemesis Gym inform me that Doyea has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Doyea drops back, looking for a kneebar! Skrarez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Skrarez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Skrarez!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

We've been hearing good reports from Skrarez's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
