PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Proctor (ranked 1380 p4p, 157 weight class) and Simon Vale (ranked 1729 p4p, 197 weight class). Vale is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Motorhead-Iron Fist . I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Simon Vale was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Proctor takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Vale lands a jab to Proctor's midsection.

Vale clinches with his opponent.
Vale tries to work over Proctor's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Vale struggles to land a body shot inside as Proctor controls his hands.
Vale misses with a hook to the ribs.
Proctor blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Proctor lands with a short punch from the clinch.


It looks like Simon Vale has been cut.
Vale blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Vale tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Proctor has a couple of punches blocked by Vale.
A nice left hand lands by Proctor.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vale goes for a takedown in the clinch but Proctor prevents it.

Proctor looks to throw the jab but Vale is out of range.

Proctor swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Vale does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Proctor swats away the attempt to clinch by Vale.

Vale displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Proctor keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Proctor connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Vale looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Vale missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vale throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Vale, as that shot connected.
Proctor cracks a nice hook into Vale's ribs.
Vale is breathing heavily.
Vale throws a right hand that misses

and Proctor counters with a crisp right hand that drops Vale! Proctor lets Vale back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


Vale is rocked!

Proctor fakes the body blow, causing Vale to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Vale goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
