With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez closes the distance and clinches.

Fillbanks letting Sanchez take a breather here.
The crowd are getting on Sanchez's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

Sanchez tries to close the distance and clinch but Fillbanks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fillbanks attempts a counter takedown but Sanchez avoids it well and moves away.

We've been informed that Sanchez has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fillbanks is looking for a takedown.
Fillbanks drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sanchez gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steven Fillbanks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sanchez tries for a takedown but Fillbanks manages to get underhooks.

Sanchez pulls guard effortlessly.

Fillbanks is pushing down on Sanchez's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sanchez is fighting to maintain full guard but Fillbanks has managed to sneak the leg through.
Sanchez is trying to maintain the position but Fillbanks is very close to passing his half guard.
Fillbanks is pressing down on Sanchez's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sanchez is holding on for now.
Fillbanks moves nicely into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sanchez can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fillbanks is working to tighten his grip on Sanchez's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Sanchez has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Fillbanks is really squeezing tight and eventually Sanchez passes out! Fillbanks breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
