Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ed ONeill (ranked 3415 p4p, 389 weight class) and Yen Askren (ranked 3295 p4p, 378 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Askren's choice of entrance music: Hello from the Askren Side. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ed ONeill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yen Askren!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Jeff Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
ONeill loads up on a big right hand but Askren slips the punch.
Despite the aggression on Askren's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Askren scores with a shot to the body.
ONeill has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from ONeill there as he acknowledges the shot.
Askren misses with a wild body shot.
ONeill on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Askren tests ONeill's chin there with a solid looking shot.
ONeill throws a looping overhand right but Askren ducks down to avoid it.
Askren lands a body shot.
ONeill looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A big right from Askren misses.
ONeill throws a hook but Askren blocks it.
ONeill slips a straight right by Askren.
A big right from Askren misses.
ONeill waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Askren.
Askren's jab looks to have found its range, popping ONeill under the eye.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Askren with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling ONeill to score with a decent uppercut.
Askren ducks under a wild hook from ONeill.

Askren cracks ONeill with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Askren has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning ONeill to stand back up!

ONeill is rocked!

It looks like Ed ONeill has been cut.
ONeill switches off momentarily and Askren cracks him with a monster right hand! ONeill topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Askren dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Askren!
