PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nevil Hawk (ranked 23074 p4p, 729 weight class) and Noam Dar (ranked 8226 p4p, 678 weight class). Hawk's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ruleta. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nevil Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Noam Dar!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Dar counters by clinching up.
Hawk is trying to break free.
Hawk wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Dar gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Hawk tries to kick Dar off in order to stand up. Dar Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Dar is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hawk is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hawk knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dar on the ground.
Dar trying to control the position but Hawk is working away.
Hawk is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Dar just content to control the position.
Dar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hawk keeps working.
Hawk is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Dar asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dar fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Hawk is not content to let Dar control the position.
The referee asks Dar politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Dar prefers to stall for the moment though.
Hawk tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Dar is riding his opponent, not letting Hawk buck him off.
Hawk trying to get back to his feet but Dar is in full control for now.
Dar controlling the position well here. Hawk rolled but Dar kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Hawk is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Dar keeps control of the position easily here as Hawk tries to buck him off.
It looks like Dar might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Dar wants to control but Hawk is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dar is cranking Hawk's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Hawk! He's tightened the choke and Hawk is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Noam Dar!
