Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Andre Clay (ranked 1300 p4p, 56 weight class) and Jim Jims (ranked 3447 p4p, 167 weight class). Clay comes to the cage accompanied by Believe. Jim Jims has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andre Clay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Jims!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clay lands a slapping body shot.

Jims drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Clay is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Clay has control of Jims's left arm, preventing Jims from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Clay continues to stall.
Jims wants to control from the top but Clay keeps moving.

Jims drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Clay dives on top into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jims has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Clay can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Clay controls from within his opponent's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Clay advances to half guard.
Clay is taking a breather. Jims says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Clay knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jims on the ground.
Jims is looking for a sweep. Clay is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Clay content to control rather than advance.
Jims won't allow Clay to pass to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Clay in particular looking to stall.
Clay trying to pass the guard but Jims defending well.
Clay keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Jims looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Clay looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Clay content to control rather than advance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jims on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Andre Clay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jims throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Clay throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Clay lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A leg kick checked by Clay.
Clay throws a body shot but no joy.
Clay misses with an uppercut.
Jims is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Clay with a body shot.
Jims wants to land a leg kick but Clay is out of range.
Clay lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.


It looks like Jim Jims has been cut.
Jims misses with a head kick.
Clay was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Jims misses with a hook
and Clay cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Clay throws a jab when Jims was well out of range.
Jims closes this distance looking for a takedown but Clay circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jims.
Clay throws a half hearted mid kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Clay waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jims.
Jims walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Jims moves out of range of the strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Clay throws a poor cross that misses

and Jims counters with a single leg into guard. Clay didn't expect that.
Jims looking to pass the guard.
Clay wants to sweep but no luck.
Jims trying to control but Clay is working from the bottom.
Clay is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jims postures up in Clay's guard and throws a big left but Clay blocks it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Clay seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Clay is looking to stand up but Jims isn't so interested in that idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andre Clay dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jim Jims's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jims tries for a takedown but Clay sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Clay throws a hook but Jims avoids it easily.
Andre Clay is winning the standup battle so far.
Clay misses with a low kick.
Clay tries to bum rush Jims with a series of wild strikes but Jims uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A head kick misses from Clay.
Jims takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Jims keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Clay.
Jims has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Clay throws a body shot but no joy.
Clay misses with a double jab.
Jims throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Clay misses with a looping left.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Clay throws the left hand but Jims avoids the punch easily.
Clay feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jimss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Jims looks to land a left hand but Clay moved out of range nicely.
Clay moves out of range as Jims strikes.
A slow jab from Clay misses its intended target.
Clay smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jims shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Clay but Clay pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Good standup being displayed there by Clay as he connects with a hook.
Jims seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Clay shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Jims is backing up but Clay catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Jims covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Clay Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andre Clay!
A very excited looking Andre Clay rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
