The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baker throws a jab but it's blocked by Hamza .
Hamza shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Baker pinned against the cage. Baker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ryat Hamza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hamza shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Baker is trying to defend but Hamza finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Hamza looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baker is looking to control Hamza 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Baker avoid being mounted?

Baker wants to get back to full guard.
Baker pushes Hamza off looking to stand but Hamza dives back in and keeps control.
Hamza moves nicely into side control.
Baker tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hamza wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Baker tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Hamza looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Hamza tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Baker is in all sorts of trouble here.

Hamza is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Baker has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Baker is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Hamza is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Baker can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hamza breaks from Baker's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Hamza has control of Baker's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Baker regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Baker is trying desperately to improve position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Baker takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Baker walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Hamza drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Baker swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Hamza 's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
