PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marvin Miller (ranked 5653 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matvei Krilov (ranked 2171 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Matvei Krilov was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marvin Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matvei Krilov!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krilov loads up on a big right hand but Miller slips the punch.
Miller swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Miller seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Krilov connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Miller.
Miller displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Krilov throws out the jab.
Miller appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Krilov dips to his left and cracks Miller with an uppercut!

Krilov darts in and clinches Miller up against the cage.
Miller is trying to drag Krilov to the mat but Krilov just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

It looks like Marvin Miller has been cut.
Miller tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Krilov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Krilov is pushing Miller up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Miller tries to pull guard but Krilov forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Krilov wants to get up but he can't break Miller's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Krilov is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Miller takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Miller dives in and grabs Krilov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Krilov pushes down on Miller's head and hops out.

Krilov stands and steps away. Miller gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Miller looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Miller drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Krilov throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Miller sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Krilov lands with a cross.

Krilov throws a good cross that connects.
Miller walks straight into a right hand from Krilov - that's dropped him! Krilov jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Miller from any more punishment! Miller complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Matvei Krilov!
Matvei Krilov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
